On 31st January Alloa West was linked with Alloa North and Rev Elizabeth Clelland was introduced as minister. There are 3500 people living in our parish, part of which is designated as an urban priority area and Alloa South East is now a social inclusion partnership area. First opened in 1864, our present congregation numbers approximately 270. Our church has a seating capacity of about 600 and there are 2 reasonably sized halls, 1 smaller room and a kitchen. There is also a basement storage area. For every service in Alloa West, a crèche is provided where children under three can be safely cared for.
The
church organ is a 3 manuals + pedals by Lewis of London. It is the last
significant pipe-organ in playing condition in the country and is recognized
as a 'gem'. |
